Number 2 for the micro story

Now this was a mistake to outdo all previous. How she managed to get herself here was simply an astounding level of shortsightedness. Just climb to the top of the tallest tower, sounded perfectly reasonable, she’d climbed so many things before. It was the getting down part that had eluded her.

(aka. When Kyne decided to climb up one of the towers in Skyhold before anyone knew she wouldn’t be hurt by jumping off it.)

Do you have any modern!AU's for any of your OC's?

Most of them do have a modern counterpart, though not as developed at the moment. In my head they all are involved in one giant mashup of all my favourite modern!AU types, like the coffee shop, flower shop and roommate, etc. More or less whatever adds up to equal the most fluff and realest angst.

I won’t get into specifics here but if you wanna know about a certain character’s modern counterpart feel free to ask!

Kyne : Olympian ask : Ares, Hermes and Apollo

Ares: How quick are you to anger?

Kyne: Very quick? I guess it depends on your definition of anger… I’m quick to get sarcastic which usually means someone’s pissed me off but it’s harder to get me to start yelling and cursing at someone. Don’t get me wrong, most of the time I want to but the person tends to be a noble and my brother and Josephine have both advised against doing it again…

Hermes: What is the most trouble you have ever gotten yourself into and would you do it again?

Kyne: The most trouble I’ve been in… besides this whole thing with darkspawn magisters and red lyruim templars? The most trouble I’ve been in was… when I helped Sera slip a jar of bees into a noblewoman’s drawer of unmentionables. While Josephine and my brother totally managed to talk the woman down from her tyraid they somehow knew I was involved… They made me sit through multiple meetings in a row every day for almost a week! ….. but it was totally worth it… Why am I the leader again?

Apollo: Do you have any special talents?

Kyne: Okay, you’re giving me really easy outs here. I can close tears in the very fabric of your world? That’s pretty special? Or how about the fact that I managed to talk Cullen into playing another night of Wicked Grace? Still no? Okay, well, I guess the fact that I can scale just about anything with relative easy is special. I’ve climbed up towers at Skyhold and trees in the Emerald Graves. How? I don’t know I just do… Leliana’s said she wishes I would train to be one of her spies because I would be very useful, but I settled for being a scout because spies have to sit around for long periods of time. Akinlana: Don’t forget that Aviana likened you to a spider…Kyne: Oh yea! It’s a compliment I’m sure, he likes spiders~

Wild Tansy What’s something your character fights against?

I’d say Corypheshit but that’s too easy. So, in truth her biggest fight is against oppression. It’s a broad topic but everything she is willing to fight and die for is encompassed by that word. Whether its elves, mages, the poor, it doesn’t matter to her their beliefs or backgrounds. She believes everyone should be allowed to live happy lives and she spends her’s trying to make the world better for them. It may seem naive of her but she understands the limits of her abilities. She knows she can’t help everyone so she tries to take heart in the little things she can do.

Pink Carnation What is one thing your character will never forget?

The first time she had ever seen her brother cry. It was a more recent event, taking place just after Adamant. He had gotten separated from them in all the fighting, and watched as his sister feel into the canyon. He didn’t see the rift open. He thought she had died. He had been too far away to save her. When she came out of the rift he kept collected, everyone was watching. Yet, once they were in private he had pulled her aside, hugged her tight and cried for quite some time. Neither of them would really forget.

Asphodel What’s something your character regrets?

Aviana regrets not learning how to cope with the teasing and aggression. His whole life is practically dictated by whether or not he’s stepped on anyone’s toes. He wishes he could just ignore them or fight back but he can never bring himself too. It makes him feel weak and helpless and he hates that. 

This also leads to the darker regret of being born as he is. He doesn’t regret being alive and just really hopes that his parents loved each other and that he wasn’t a mistake… or worse…

Chicory What is your character’s attitude toward money?

He dislikes that it has to run most things. He liked being a member of the dalish because they traded for things. Money was mostly an excess that they had little need for, so when he got into the towns and cities and needed it, it was difficult for him to get used to. Not that the actual thing is what annoys him, it’s the greed that is bred from the want of it. The high prices for necessities or cheaply made items made him angry. Another invention that seemed simply made to divide people. 

Mugwort What makes your character happy?

Good things. A child’s smile. A simple gesture of kindness. The sunrise. The smell of the world after the rain. The pristine whiteness of fresh fallen snow. The embrace of a loved one. The secret glances and chaste, promise filled kisses of lovers in public. The boisterous laughter of the drunken men in the tavern. The pride in the eyes of the blacksmith when a piece comes out just right. The steady kindness of the horsemaster as he tends to his charges. The softening around the amber eyes of the commander when he looks at her. 

It all makes him happy because others are happy and that’s good. That’s enough.

Acanthus What are your character’s hobbies?

Carving little knic-knac’s for children. He’s taken up smithing. Writing stories to tell to children. He’s learning to mend clothing and tents. Cooking (he makes sure to go often to help keep the head cook in check as she could be very cruel to the elves working with her even when they worked so hard). Checking in on everyone to make sure they’ve eaten, had enough to drink and gotten enough sleep. He also double checks on Cullen just to be sure he doesn’t need help with anything. (even if that’s not a hobby I wanted to write it somewhere~)
