Well, this had certainly taken an interesting turn. In all of the pirate captain’s many years, never would he have expected that he would have a queen nearly begging for passage on his ship. And to her credit, she did so rather prettily.
“Love, if I granted passage to every beautiful woman who threw themselves at me, I’d have more passengers than crew,” he starts, crystalline eyes sparkling with mischief and amusement even despite the familiar wood of his ship against his back. If he’s honest, few women had the daring or bravery to shove Captain Hook against the wall of his own ship - even if it was in the promise of pleasure to come. But Killian expected no less from the likes of Regina, his lips quirking up on one side in an easy, unconcerned smirk.
Oh, he could take her where she desired to go for the payment she offered - her information on the Crocodile was sound, her offer of pleasure surely not without basis, even if it was only a ruse to further her own needs. But Killian recognized the desperation she tried to hide behind those coy looks, and knew he was the only one who had the ability to assuage said desperation. Freedom called to many; the adventure of a pirate ship, without limits or bonds, was something that led countless people to approach him in the past. Poor people, tired of their dull lives on land, wanting to escape marriages or responsibilities, people that would do anything, if only it meant they would be accepted aboard The Jolly Roger.
Different stories, to be sure, but if he tilts his head just so, he can see the same sort of desperation behind her eyes as he saw in so many others.
His voice is low, meant for her ears only as his head lowers, sea-blue eyes meeting her own with all the intensity he’s known for. “Unfortunately for you, vague promises from a woman not exactly known for her honesty are not high on my list of payment methods.” He’s so close now that warm breath ghosts over her painted lips with every quiet word he breathes, an assured smugness in the pirate’s eyes as he continues.
“So unless you have a way to assure your promises are true, or you have something to offer to sweeten this little deal--” Killian leans forward slightly, breaking their eye contact in order to lower his voice further and speak directly into her ear. “-- you can see yourself off my ship.”
