they'd been talking with one another for the past few hours , always finding new things to discuss . they'd spent so much time talking , && soon day had bled into night . the moonlight streaked through the large windows , casting a softening glow over the area . naturally , as conversations follow an undisclosed , albeit recognizable , pattern , the discussion soon turned toward the individuals involved .f quite recently , although not as recently as he'd have liked , he'd had a go at dragomir . it wasn't anything that he'd have wanted , but dragomir had finally left theodosia alone .

“ i am glad that i make you feel safe , ” he says , thoughts becoming a little hectic .

so , he made her feel safe . he wanted to make sure that he made her feel safe for as long as possible . gently , he reaches out to take her hand , thumb caressing the soft skin of her hand . he'd been tossing several ideas over in his mind , all centering around ways to make sure that she was as safe as possible . the center of contention , of any causes of unsafe conditions for theodosia , was dragomir . “ you know [ … ] i could take care of him , ” he suggests , tone light && casual . it was something he'd gotten good at over the years , talking about death in such a casual matter that it sounded like he was discussing the weather .

then , there was another idea that crossed his mind . it wasn't something that he wanted to do , or even offer , but it would help him keep theodosia safe . he could keep her safe for as long as he was alive , if she'd let him .

harley knocks back the rest of her drink , trying to steer her thoughts down a slightly better path , && looked at jennifer . “ want another drink ? ”
