Description

The Fronde was a series of civil wars in France from 1648 to 1653, fought during the early childhood of King Louis XIV. It was a revolt by nobles and law courts against the heavy taxes and growing absolute power of the royal government led by Queen Regent Anne and Cardinal Mazarin.
