A Rochelle-Centric Coraline AU was what i wanted to see, so i became the change i wanted to see in the world.

My extra thoughts under the cut! :D

I got super fucking invested in the idea of a Rochelle-centric Coraline AU for like, a week straight, aandd made a lot of little sketches and notes on it. I think what made the concept so appealing to me is that it would be such a spooky and intriguing character exploration of my favorite win or lose character.

Seeing how she navigates a lonely new neighborhood. How she takes up so many responsibilities all on her own, and insists upon doing so. The way she interacts and gets attached to the whimsical perfect world behind the little door.

Holding onto it as if it were the only place in her life where she can be a kid who has it easy. who gets what she wants. and who didn't have to be so entrenched in financial burden and emotional unavailability...

Warhrghghh also i just really fucking like coraline and spookiness in general :3

The broad strokes of the plot are pretty much the same as Coraline, only with a few new themes and roles introduced into the mix.

Perhaps i will share those ideas and characters to the world when i've drawn them down. I'll share them along with the Other World Counterparts of the rest of the huge cast! :D Cause boy do i HAVE ideas! i'm ready to cut open just how exactly Rochelle perceives her newfound peers in the real world, and their distorted, "perfected" button-eyed forms The Other Vanessa has sewn up for her!

I found a roach a few days back and I wanted to draw out my experience. My husband didn't spray it, he despatched it. Buuuuut, I choose to use bug spray for Frank instead ^^

So, ⚠️spoilers for Win or Lose⚠️

I love Win or Lose, but I can’t help but feel like they could’ve done a “you don’t have to rush” storyline with Frank. The entire reason he broke up with his previous girlfriend was that he “put up his armor”, said things were going too fast, and became defensive which he later regretted. Then, in his episode, he stops talking to his online date because he’s not over his ex-girlfriend. But in the last episode, he quickly falls for Vanessa?? I mean, it’s cute, yeah, but it feels stereotypical. Why does he HAVE to be in a relationship? Why does he HAVE to start dating immediately? IDK, I just thought it would’ve been a good message for some people to hear that they don’t have to rush into anything. They can be allowed to grieve - they can be single!! They don’t need a love interest!

And yeah I guess they hinted at it a little in Frank’s episode during the parent meeting, but it still just feels kinda random? Especially since Frank “wasn’t ready” with the woman he was talking to before. If he wasn’t over his ex then how’d he get over her in like two seconds at the end??
