Victoria Frankenstein & Eli Lavenza
nope. Nope. NOPE. NOPE NOPE NOPE
I CANT HANDLE THE SEASON FINALE OF FRANKENSTEIN MD!!!¡¡¡!!! Not when Victoria and Eli, just NO😭😭😭 And the thing Robert said about him and Victoria being alone together when he just killed (spoiler?) Eli just plunged a knife in my heart and now it won't heal until season 2
Thoughts On the Season Finale
I'm pretty satisfied. The acting, as always, was top notch. I'm not a huge fan of the chemistry between Eli and Victoria (or lack thereof IMO) but the blocking seemed cute, and I visually love the little pinky swear kiss. I think there could have been a more subtle and graceful build-up to the relationship, more than just her wearing his jacket in that one episode. Even if Victoria was keeping her feelings to herself, I think Eli could have had a few little moments for us to process his intentions. Either that or keep it as a close friendship, because honestly I think that would have worked just as well. Eli's death felt kind of sudden, in term of there wasn't a huge of struggle on his or Victoria's part, but I'm unclear as to whether that was for effect of not. I will forever love the dynamic between Victoria and Robert though. Also I'm still confused about the question marked next episode box. Is that in case there's a second season? Or is there something more coming out?

okay, so i need to talk about the frankenfinale
here's the thing... the first half of the series was SO amazing. I was excited for each new episode, not wondering how they were going to disappoint me next. and the frankenfinale was very disappointing.
it didn't work to have victoria calmly tell us that she's not going to be a doctor anymore, after the buildup of her and iggy becoming MD's and the way she felt about it in the beginning (making everyone call her doctor when she wasn't) and honestly i feel like we didn't get to see enough of her realizing her mistakes on screen. i wanted to see the decay of victoria's mental state as she realized what she had done, not this tame bullshit. i wanted her to feel something. victoria was so wonderfully morally gray in the beginning and i really got that mad scientist vibe from her and i loved it. but her character development just seems really?? not all there? victoria seemed very much like just a normal person in the second half of the season compared to the way more dynamic character in the first half.
eli and victoria's relationship was VERY forced. they had no chemistry on screen and it wasn't even hinted at before eli confessed his love for her that they were anything other than friends. it also happened way too quickly--going from him confessing his love to a kiss in the very next episode? it kind of seemed like they only did that so that his death would be even more "crushing." oh no, they love each other and he's dead. oh no. (it just seems convenient, that's all.)
all of the episodes that happened in the basement have really been a let down. the show really started declining drastically after they brought the creature to life. the show really could have been more compelling than it was.
frankenstein md writers, you can do better. I hope you do if you get a season 2.
Also, knew it was super serious, but laughing too much at the violins in the finale. Thanks a lot, Young Frankenstein!
“have i told you,” i say. “yes,” they say. they don’t even need to hear your name anymore to know that i’m about to talk about you. again.
