Tired of big name film-makers distorting classic literature? Want to see Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's original Frankenstein truly brought to life for once? Look no further!
The Modern Prometheus offers a visual adaptation of the Frankenstein 1818 novel (with some bits from the less known, author-annotated 1823 text) that stays loyal to the themes of the novel! to us, these include, but are not limited to:
disability & mental illness
motherhood: post partum depression/psychosis
corruption of the justice system
gender (subversion of roles & here we are attempting a narratively transfeminine victor frankenstein)
abuse & cycles

We’re hosting a chance to interact with our cast of characters themselves! For a limited amount of time, you can send an ask to this blog addressed to any character you’d like and we’ll respond with them in art. Have fun!
Fund us!
Indie animation
At the moment, Patreon is our main source of funding. As we are just beginning, most benefits for the higher tiers will be concept art and test animations, but expect things like early animation, storyboards and exclusive art in the future!
You can start supporting for as low as £5 per month and get Discord access, but we recommend getting into our "Birth to our Creation" and "It's Alive!" tears to have early access to our stuff.
Kickstarter campaign hopefully starting soon, which will be our actual source :)

This is a paid position—if you are an animator that is interested, send an email to [email protected] with any examples of your work! We’ll review your submission when we begin the script, and be in touch to discuss further details if you are accepted.
