TEN YEARS LATER
Based on this post
Nygmobblepot with Ulmus and Yarrow, please. 💜💚💜
two gay idiots + ulmus; royalty, strength, age & yarrow; cure for a broken heart.
Oswald has learned to love Ed in every light and every darkness. But here, in the dim fire glow of the mansion, Ed is particularly beguiling.
Ed rests on the floor, leaning gently against Oswald’s crossed legs. He’s sleep deprived, drowsing despite himself and twitching awake again when Oswald’s fingers card softly through his gold-limned hair. Oswald presses his fingertips just so into Ed’s temple, where the roots have started to grow in grey.
“We ought to retire for the night,” Oswald suggests carefully.
“I’m fine, Oswald. I just need a moment to rest my eyes.”
“At least join me up here. You can’t possibly be comfortable on the floor.”
“Don’t tell me where I’m most comfortable,” Ed grouses, sliding a hand around the back of Oswald’s knee stubbornly.
“Well, if you insist on holding me hostage here, you might as well talk to me so I don’t waste away from boredom.”
“Any preference on subject?” Ed’s hand meanders down to settle on Oswald’s ankle, tracing the hem of his umbrella sock with a thumb.
“I’m in the mood to reminisce. Remind me of something nice.”
Do lankybrunettepartdeux
@lankybrunettepartdeux is a snake nah i’m kidding. Katie is a darling who contributes a good amount of good content to the Gotham fandom, and although i dont dabble in that side, I still enjoy seeing the stuff that she produces. Plus she’s hilarious to talk to and I adore her
I think the music in that video is actually Die Moldau, but it DOES sound very similar to Simon and Garfunkel's Bright Eyes, which is the intro to Watership Down. I used to watch the tv series with my mom and my sister when it aired here :)
(For anyone who lacks a point of reference, the video clip is here.)
It actually doesn’t remind me of “Bright Eyes,” but of one of the other instrumental interludes from Watership Down instead. Your assessment of the music is totally different from the people who said they think it’s Tchaikovsky. Also, I never knew they made a television series of Watership Down after the film came out! I’m talking quite solidly about the 1978 film, which was on VHS by the time I was a toddler. I seriously don’t think my mom knew what she was getting into when she let me pick that and The Last Unicorn as my first two video rentals at the age of 3. Weirdly, I don’t remember those giving me nightmares. I got to the point that those were the only films I wanted to watch up till I was about six, and they’re still two of my favorites (as are the novels on which they’re based).
I’m going to sit down and listen to all three possible sources this weekend, because now I’m really freaking curious where that clip actually comes from! This is something I normally would’ve researched by now, but I’ve been swamped. And I admit the guessing-game is amusing. Someone in the sea of notes on that post probably has a definite answer by now.
beysdameron said: Ok so I took a classical music semester in college and while it sounds very much like Smetana’s Moldau, this is the bit in the main famous Swan Lake theme JUST BEFORE the loud stuff comes in. I obviously can’t sing it in the response but you’ll know it the second you hear it.
🎶 you spin me right round, baby right round like a record, baby right round round round 🎶 RIP Ikky
Ella's name isn't a palindrome. Now, normally I would tolerate anyone whose name is not a palindrome because they are less fortunate. The reason I hate her is that she's so close to having a name that's a palindrome (Elle) yet hasn't changed it, in what is a CLEAR move to anger me further. She should definitely be obligated to change because I said so.
EDIT:
Here at anti-endless-nygmobblepot, we wholeheartedly agree. The behaviour is incredibly unnecessary and Ella should be more mature.
This sort of thing is certainly on par with all the other selfish and vile things she does.
Defenders!
Thaaaaank! Sorry about the delay, I was at school ^^;
The Character I LoveFrank Castle. Shhhhh, he’s a Defender, he counts. Also, of course, Claire Temple and Karen Page, obviously, they deserve nothing but Good.
The Character I HateOh, uggghhhhh… I was NOT satisfied with Alexandra at all, nor most of the Hand, I’ll be real. I leave Madam Gao out of this, Madam Gao is everything. I used to not be a fan of Stick, but I loved ALL of his contributions in Defenders. I’m dancing on Killgrave’s… well, you get the idea. NOT sorry he’s gone AT ALL. And Matt, as always, is in the corner of Why.
The Character I Would Call If I was in TroubleOooooh, definitely depends on the kind of trouble. Most of these people are excellent in a pinch, but it helps to play to their strengths. If I was feeling paranoid, I’d call Jessica. If I was feeling isolated, I’d call Luke. If I physically saw a crime being committed, I’d call Matt, either to stop the crime or defend the people involved. If I was somehow arrested for something, I’d call Foggy. If I was physically hurt, I’d call Claire. If I knew about a conspiracy, I’d call Karen, and maybe Trish. If I needed someone dead, Frank has probably already killed them. He’s considerate that way. And I would call Danny Rand if, and only if, I was babysitting a child who was really, really into dragons. Because, you know… I think telling dragon stories is about all he’s good for.
The Character Who I’m in Trouble WithLuke. I haven’t paid my bar tab. He’s shaking his head in disapproval with that patent “I expected better of you” Disappointment. I’m sorry Luke! I’m sorry!
The Character I Would Trust to Plan my Birthday PartyFoggy! Foggy, hands down, he’d find something fun to do, pay for everything in advance so there’s no stress, arrange transportation for all, he’d just be focused on having a good time and he’d cater to my interests because he is The Best. With Jessica you’d get a bottle of booze and a grumbled “Happy birthday.” With Matt he’d forget, pretend he hadn’t, then rush everything at the last minute while lying to your face that he TOTALLY has this under control and DID not forget, no, why would you say that? Luke would be a sweet and do his best, but honestly doesn’t know you that well, so it’s just generic candles and cake, for real. Frank, too, is the worst at birthdays and would Rather Not, but he’d send you a real nice card with something thoughtful in it. And he knows ALL the tricks, tips, and discounts for a child’s birthday, DO NOT decorate for a kid’s birthday without consulting Frank first, he got you covered. And NO ONE can ever mention birthdays around Danny unless you’re prepared to be kidnapped to a private island for a week because isn’t that how everyone celebrates their birthday? You wanted a lavish resort, right?
The Character I Would Share Fries WithMatt, it would be fun fighting over fries with him. Competitive fry eating. He’d be into it. I could do the same with Frank, but I would Lose. Motherfucker stuffs 5 wafflefries in his face at once and he ain’t even sorry. Karen and I can share gossip and fries, gab about her disastrous love life. It’d be good times.
The Character Who Would be my Best FriendKaren Page. Hells yeah. I am not worthy of Claire Temple, but I’d sure as fuck try. And Foggy OF COURSE! Come here my sweet bisexual prince, come cry on my shoulder about your idiot boyfriend!
The Character I Would Hang Out with on a Rainy Day Matt’s probably decent on a rainy day, he probably appreciates the sound and sensations more than most. Frank doesn’t mind a nice warm cup of coffee in the rain, that’s a thing. And Karen, of course, nothing like spooky stories under a dark sky X3
