So, I'm really kind of upset right now, and could use some honest feedback. (Not Gotham-related, sorry!)
I still play on the Johnlock tag on omegle, and I write my own prompts. I've gotten praise in the past for good characterisation, and well-written prompts, which I work hard on and am always really proud of (especially because less and less people in the tag are providing prompts themselves).
Because I put so much work into my prompts, and especially because this is basically my only creative outlet right now during a really shitty time (Covid stress, severe election stress, a close friend/ex boyfriend killing himself, etc) I usually just disconnect if I feel like my character doesn't have the right chemistry with the other character playing. Sometimes I disconnect because of a lot of grammatical and spelling issues, but not as often. Sometimes the app glitches. Sometimes real life interrupts and I have to disconnect at a moment's notice. Sometimes the other person takes obscenely long to come back with one sentence replies. People disconnect from me without reason all the time, I just figure they have their reasons and move on.
Apparently, according to this person, people have been talking about how shitty my behavior supposedly is. They've asked why I don't direct characterisation more, which I make a point not to do because I was under the impression that It was rude to do so. And if I wanted to write for both characters, I would write fanfiction.
I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but my feelings are seriously hurt, and I feel a little silly for it. But this has always been fun for me, and I hate the thought that people are talking badly about me behind my back.
I guess my question is, am I the asshole here? Have the rules of courtesy on omegle changed since I first started on here? I don't know what else to do, except continue convos with people I don't want to and not having any fun, or providing a reason for every single person I disconnect with, however short the convo, which seems both exhausting and hurtful to the other person.
Someone, please advise here!
