My Clean Detox Round 2
I am on day 8 of my Clean program. The first time I did Clean was on January 16, 2011 and continued until the 3rd week of march. I lost 56lb and felt great! I am sure I like most start to slip up with a small bite of something or going to a social event and forgetting how you feel with the program. Those small slips eventually turn into bigger trips and eventually a fall into the abyssal depths of your old eating habits.
Last Sunday I started on my Clean program again. I gained 4 pounds in the past month of drinking and eating all kinds of stuff at social events and work, which later translated into all 3 meals per day. I work in the restaurant industry but I'll get into that later. This time I didn't do the Elimination Diet, Dr Junger, recommends in the book. I woke up on Sunday and decided I need to get back on track. I wasn't feeling myself, my Clean self, and I needed to pick up the ball again. This Sunday morning post meditation shower time enlightenment happens often to me. My first week went very well, my friend Chefpandita eventually started Clean on Monday and gave me great Clean Support. All week long we would have lunch and shop Clean. I need to thank her for being there especially during the end of the week, when things got a bit hairy. I was inspecting a wedding that we did the catering for, and was very tempted to slip but, she was my marker and reminded me, to stay on course.
If you can find someone who you really can communicate with to do Clean I highly recommend it. The support you give each other is important to get through the rough patches during the first week. If it is someone like Chefpandita who did Clean before even better.
I am going into week 2 now. Chefpandita has suggested I open a Tumblr account, to show how I'm doing. A bit hesitate at first, but then she suggested I put up some of my Photographs. So here we are. I plan to start taking pictures of everything I consume to document my progress, and share my recipes with other people. Maybe I'll inspire someone to stick to it, during the rough patches.
