Household 28 - Fayna is not well

While Nikki and Frederick struggled, Fayna was having an even harder time.

She was frequently seen pretending she had a baby and snuggling a bag of flour. This wasn't happening at work, thankfully, but everyone who lived in the townhouse complex had noticed.

"Freds, I am starting to worry about Fayna. I thought once she started to heal after Garrick's death that she would be alright, but with your dad still so unwell...she isn't getting any better." Olivia was pretty worried about her best friend and roommate.

"I don't know what to do for her. She's mostly fine, when she isn't imagining she's a mom. Is it really something to worry about?" Frederick was a bit overwhelmed with Knox and in no place to take responsibility for his sister's issues.

"Someone ought to tell your mother."

But neither Olivia nor Frederick were brave enough to do that.

Fayna was mostly fine. She still spent considerable time with her nephew and was pleasant enough to be around.

But she really wasn't fine at all.

After an early stoppage in the Vergil Ortiz-Frederick Lawson fight, referee Tony Weeks went to FB to basically throw the NSAC under the bus and say that Lawson may have had a brain aneurysm?

Obviously, we don’t know if this is true or not but this is a big accusation that I imagine the NSAC will have to comment on. I’m also curious how Weeks would know this? Did someone tell him? Was it someone worried for Lawson’s safety? Or is Weeks pulling this out his ass?

Household 28* - Frederick and Nikki Lawson

Frederick and Nikki have been anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child.

It's time! Nikki is going into labour.

"Are we prepared for this?" Frederick exclaimed.

"Too late now. Ooooooowwwww," replied Nikki.

The labour was over faster than you might think, and Nikki was thrilled to hold baby Knox in her arms.

Frederick was immediately involved, holding his son and giving Nikki a chance to recover.

Household 32 - Genevive is close with her family

Genevive's scandal hadn't been the cause of her father's heart attack, but it certainly hadn't helped his recovery. Her mother was very angry about the whole thing.

"You should have told me!" Faraday argued every time they talked on the phone.

Genevive was pretty sure her mother was angrier about being embarrassed by Genevive's behaviour than anything else.

At least her siblings were all still on her side.

"You should have told Mom," Gethan did say, but only because he felt their mother would have been able to do more to mitigate damage if she had known sooner.

When Gethan said it, she could admit he had a point, but not when she spoke to her mother.

At least Frederick and Fayna, her triplets, had forgiven her. It was most surprising from Fayna - after all Michael had been her boyfriend at the time - but Fayna had laughed and only said she wished she had children too, that she wanted dozens of them and they could live in an artist commune. Fayna had been a bit odd lately, but at least she wasn't mad at Genevive.

Household 28 - It's the little things

It wasn't about to get easier. Nikki and Frederick had a lot of challenges, big and small, they continued to have to face.

Like when Nikki realized the fridge was totally empty and everyone was starving.

Frederick took Knox in hand and made sure he was fed with the little that remained.

Nikki ran to the store - they couldn't afford the fee for delivery. It was a quick trip, making Nikki sad she didn't have time to enjoy the outing.

Once Nikki got home, Frederick started to prepare dinner.

Nikki put Knox to bed, while Frederick concentrated on the meal. He managed to burn it anyway.

Exhausted and ready to go to bed as soon as they were finished, Nikki and Frederick smiled as they recounted their days and shared in each other's joys.

Household 28 - Toddler challenges

Raising Knox presented many challenges, and as much as Frederick tried, it was always harder on Nikki.

To judge by how well Knox was doing, Frederick and Nikki were knocking it out of the park. Their son was happy and thriving.

But Nikki wasn't. It was common to see her scarf down a snack still in her PJs, or feed herself with the leftovers from the healthy food she served Knox.

It didn't happen often, but lately she was so exhausted that she didn't rouse quickly when Knox woke in the night.

Luckily Frederick was able to respond and calm their son.

Nikki ended up oversleeping the next day, and missing work. They really could not afford to make that a habit.

Household 28 - Quality time as a couple

Nikki and Frederick adore their son, Knox, but do try to find time to enjoy being a couple.

Knox was getting bigger, learning to use the potty and actually sleeping at night. It didn't make things easy, but it did make them a little easier.

When Frederick got home from work, and before Nikki got dressed for her own shift, the pair tried to get in some quality time.

Nikki adored her husband. They had had a rocky period, but that was well behind them. They were a team on the adventure of parenthood and they liked each other a lot.

Snuggles were an absolute necessity, even if they didn't have time or energy for anything more intimate.

Snuggles were also important for their son, even when he still woke up in the middle of the night. Indeed, especially when he woke and needed to be soothed back to sleep.
