Hi! Thank you for the last prompt it was so sweet :) If I may send more, how about something with grandpa (alright, maybe not grandpa :D) Ye Baiyi disapproving of ZZS's new delinquent boyfriend WKX? :3
This was as close to a parental approval as he can get and Zhou Zishu wants to make sure he does it right. He’d cajoled (bullied) and convinced (bribed) Wen Kexing into compliance when his boyfriend had initially scoffed at the idea of needing anyone’s approval for their relationship.
“The one I’m marrying is you. The one I’m going to spend my life with is you and no one else. We don’t need any approval,” He had declared fervently as they cuddled together on their couch.
But Zishu had tried again, again and again, until Lao Wen agreed (acquiesced under the threat of no sex for two weeks) to stand here with him now in front of Ye Baiyi, the only one in his life he would even hold in the regard of an elder.
Senior Ye, who sat in his garden, taking one look at Lao Wen in his second best suit and his slicked back hair, and says with a stern, “No.”
“But—“
“No,” Senior Ye says, a glint of something dangerous in his eyes when they flicker over Lao Wen. “This boy of yours is no good. Break up with him.”
Zishu can feel Lao Wen tensing up next to him even if his smile doesn’t slip even one whit.
“Hey, Old Toad Monster. You know we can elope, right?” Lao Wen retorts defiantly. “Ah Xu is an adult and so am I. This is all just formality—“
“If you don’t care about my approval, then why did you bother coming here in the first place?” Senior Ye interrupts, cocking his head to the side as if trying to scry some iota of truth from Lao Wen’s bearing.
Zishu can hardly breathe. He slides his hand into Lao Wen’s by instinct and holds on tight. A streak of relief cuts through his anxiety when he feels Lao Wen squeezing back.
When he speak again, Lao Wen’s tone is gentler but not lacking in his sincerity. “Because my Ah Xu regards you as an elder. Because your opinion matters to me and even if I don’t want it to, I will try for his sake.”
The words stills whatever worries that prickle in his heart. Lao Wen smiles at him when he turns to him. “That’s how much I love him.”
Zishu holds his breath before steeling himself. “Senior Ye, I hold you to the highest regard. If you disagree with our relationship, I understand,” He says, holding the dark gaze that pins him to place. “But I will be with him. I won’t leave him no matter what you say. And I will marry him with or without your consent.”
“Ah Xu...” Lao Wen whispers. “You...”
“I will marry you,” Zishu smiles, drinking in the pleasure of seeing his Lao Wen speechless and fond, folding his other hand over his. “In this life and every life after, I will marry you.”
“Ugh, you two are disgusting.”
Senior Ye flicks a walnut at them, glowering with clear displeasure. “You both clearly don’t need me to bless any stupid union, so why are you two wasting my time?”
“Senior Ye...”
“Oh, shut it,” Senior Ye scoffs. After a beat, he points a wagging finger at Lao Wen. “Beat me in a drinking contest and I’ll drink your tea at your wedding.”
Zishu is about to protest when Lao Wen steps forward with a determined narrowing of his eyes. “Deal. Ah Xu go raid the kitchen. I’m gonna drink this piece of shit under the table.”
Senior Ye smiles and leans back in his chair.
