The Uganda General Elections are on the 15th of January 2026!
If past elections are anything to go by (x), Museveni is going to do everything he can to make sure he doesn't lose power and things could potentially get really, really bad again (x)(x)(x), for both the public and any political opponents, particularly Bobi Wine and anyone associated with him as it's already been reported that the NUP Coordinator, Bright Muhumuza has been abducted and it's likely going to get worse.
It's important to note that Museveni is not just the current President of Uganda, he is a dictator who has been in power since 1986 and made constitutional changes in 2017 to ensure that he can remain President for the rest of his life.
Please pay attention to what is happening in Uganda and amplify Ugandan voices.
It is really, really important that this stays in the public eye especially since, at 6pm on the 13th of January 2026, the Ugandan Communications Commission announced that they had ordered a temporary shutdown of public internet access and selective mobile services (x) despite reassurance last week that this was not going to happen.
