The architects of projects like Próspera are drafting legislation to create US cities that would be free from federal regulations.
Several groups representing “startup nations”—tech hubs exempt from the taxes and regulations that apply to the countries where they are located—are drafting Congressional legislation to create “freedom cities” in the US that would be similarly free from certain federal laws, WIRED has learned.

This is all kinds of fucked up. Secession didn’t work in the 1860s, so apparently our modern-day plantation owners are trying it again. “Freedom” to exploit.
While I completely respect city governments in the USA standing up to their federal government's overreach and violence against their own citizens by ICE, my tin foil covered brain is like oh, this is by design creating the conditions for the actual agenda. They want to fracture the Americas into city-states, some of which will be owned by the ultra rich ("freedom cities") and exempted from federal laws (including environmental protections and OSHA and ... ya know ... democracy).
The boogieman of global government and all of the endless fear mongering about the United Nations and socialism have always been red herrings to distract people from the reality of a return to feudal enslavement to the ultra rich.

In this context, Freedom Cities are seen as a vehicle for a radical political project aimed at destroying existing institutions. She also analyzes the Freedom Cities proposal within a broader framework she terms "ungoverning"—a deliberate attack on the capacity and legitimacy of the administrative state. She connects the concept to historical and contemporary examples of leaders dismantling their own government's institutions for ideological or corrupt purposes. She further argues that the push for Freedom Cities aligns with a form of warlordism, not in the sense of literal civil war, but in the creation of corporate-governed fiefdoms that operate outside of the established legal and regulatory system. These "start-up cities" or special economic zones, like Próspera, are designed to allow residents and corporations to "exit" the existing system of liberal democracy in favor of a "marketplace of alternatives"

These tech tycoons and their "network state" and their "alternative system" stuff, and their seeking god-like AGI and the singularity and the rest of it… These people sound increasingly out of their gourds and really should not be entertained by politicians at all lest any politician doing so looks as bizarre, antagonistic, kooky, and unAmerican as these weirdos. Just a tip. I'm sure I'm not alone in this and most rational regular people are not keen at all on these people's whackadoo plans.
