Lit up like a flag, flashing and spinning. It's the biggest portable ferris wheel in the world. That is its claim to fame. Its bright lights stand out as I drive by. The State Capitol complex already has the dome flashing red, white and whoo hoo! Celebrating 250 years of the You Ass of Eh? Rebellion against a false king only to elect one in modern times? Stupid fucking place.

Two million to set up the party and install that gaudy ferris wheel. But a building downtown tells a different story. I drive by it every morning. It has a line of homeless people sleeping against it. Covered with old tarps and beat up jackets and garbage bags. The flashing lights from that fucking ferris wheel can't brighten their lives. But it might distract some from what this place really looks like after 250 years of what they try to call freedom.
