I reached out to the lead organizer of the Togo Uprising, Farida Nabourema on twitter. Letting her know that there are those in the US who care and stand in solidarity with the Togo people’s right to self determination. She is very appreciative and continues to be on the ground giving updates.

I’m glued to the Togo Uprising going on in Africa, just like I pay close attention and get involved in any movement involving Black liberation struggle in the US. That’s apart of being a Pan Africanist. Every uprising is a call to action globally not just with the injustices that are happening in america or the west in general. Our luxuries (cellphones,laptops,etc) are made possible by the economic enslavement and state sanctioned violence of the global south. We can’t wait until our safety nets are threatened to march. They need our resistance. To no longer be willing participants but active saboteurs to the white supremacist capitalist system.

Togo Uprising is happening now Saturday December 8,2018 so I’m updating posts all today as protests escalate. So far 3 people have been killed for protesting, including a young boy. Repression continues and the freedom fighters of Togo need support and their resistance acknowledged.
