Morning soundtrack. My birthday was last week, and as a gift to myself, I finally scored a near-mint vinyl copy of one my jazz holy grails: the debut LP by the Jazz Hip Trio.

French piano-bass-drums trio reinterpreting classical pieces by Bartok, Dvorak, and Rimsky-Korsakov in a relaxed jazz context alongside some stunning original compositions that continue the theme with aplomb.

Perfect rainy Sunday music. Desert island disc. I hope that y’all enjoy.

Much more niche compared to part 1, however,

Moscow Nights by Harmonious Wail makes me think of Ballet on the Battlefield.

Reason: Russia, music style in general, pure vibes.
