Telling time in French!

You thought Swahili was the only language I was practicing? HA

anyway, here’s a helpful guide to telling time in French. 

For time between a minute to thirty minutes past the hour. 

Il est ____ heure(s) dix 

il est deux heures dix 

Il est _____ heure(s) vingt-cinq 

For 15 minutes past the hour 

Il ___ est heure(S) et quart

For 30 mins past the hour 

Il est ____ heure(s) et demie

For 31- 59 minutes past the hour 

Il est _____ heure(S) mions dix

( ___hour minus ten or like say 1:50)

45 minutes to the hour

Il est____heure(s) moins le quart 

Some examples: 

Il part à six heures et demie du matin

En hiver, il fait nuit à cinq heures de l'après-midi

Ils dînent à sept heures du soir
