i don't know if i hate you. do you hate me? does a lion hate its cage the same as its captor? i think. i am upset with you for the things you did to me. i would find it hard to forgive you, but i also can't hate you. a higher being is as much a puppet of its instincts as any other common bug, i've found. i don't think a parasite evil for doing the thing it needs to do to survive. would a god be evil for needing to rule when such a thing is built into its very nature? when the lack of it would spell its doom? i think a lot about it these days. maybe because i finally am giving myself the room to. in regards to it i feel more emotionally stunted than usual. the part of me that is the hollow knight buckles against, almost. but as i am now i feel it's in my nature to contemplate and reflect. i think where i'm going with this is that maybe in another life we can both be free. from duty and from instinct. from paleness, hollowness and everything else. i enjoy just being alive now. no higher call, no need to perform or to be above. maybe you might feel the same? or maybe you resent your lack of power. of seemingly inherent superiority. either way, i feel a certain kinship with you. maybe because we were intertwined and trapped together for so long. even though you probably hate me. if you are out there, radiance, i hope that you are free. we all deserve to be free. - the hollow knight
