Plant of the Day
Monday 23 September 2019
The diversity of Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) cultivars always amazes me and at the Royal Botanic Garden Kew, London, the display of cordon trained plants was producing an impressive crop. The seed would have been sown in late March to early April for an outdoor crop and planted outside after the danger of frost was over. The companion plants were Tagetes patula (French marigold) and Ocimum basilicum (basil).
