Sometimes in my mind I confuse lady Freyja and lady Frigg's names and they get mad but also sometimes pretend they are angrier than they actually are and my innability to detect sarcasm makes me go insane (they always calm me down later though)

Norse Deities as The Oh Hellos Lyrics
As a follow on to a post I made a couple years ago, here’s a little list of songs I feel represent a few of the Norse pantheon! My associations are based on my own UPG and is by no means an exhaustive list! Odin - New River “I know the winds from the south Have the waves riled up like a hungry mouth, And your stomach goes hollow at the thought that it could swallow you whole. Well it'll rain for forty days and nights, and nothing you do can slow the rising tides. But the river takes her shape from every tempest she abides, and like her you'll be made new again."
Freyja - Soap “I know maybe you're not quite ready to loosen your hold On the safety blanket you've been keeping around your shoulders. But your sums and your pieces are enough to make you whole; You've got to let go. I think that you're worth keeping around, I think that you're worth holding onto." Skaði - Thus Always to Tyrants “I will look for you, As the sun rises high, When the dry bones dance, With the timbrel and lyre. There's a wind alive in the valley, It will fill your lungs if you'll have it." Hel - Cold “When the feeling leaves you, It moves so slow Like the loose change from your front pocket, You don't even feel it go. When the bitter creeps in, To bite you whole, A spectre, unreflected, oh It keeps you cold." Loki - Hieroglyphs “Even the great celestial hieroglyphs Are bodies of dust illuminated; And if your heavens can be both sacred and dust, Oh, maybe so can the rest of us."

The First Appearance of My Lady
@lokislittlewitchling You asked for stories about how we found our paths on your Witchy Wishlist, so I thought I would share how I first saw Freyja.
I was falling asleep one night, in that twilight slumber where sleep paralysis can seize you and reception is open, when suddenly visions of a golden woman looming fiercely over a battlefield overtook me. The sun blazing behind her turned the sky blood red, and she morphed shape, showing forms of warrior women from across the globe, all letting out battle cries that roared in my ears. A heavy pressure pressed on my chest, the same pressure and warmth as a cat, and tears began streaming down my face. I was overcome with love and longing and terror and courage and the sense that if I swore fealty to this Lady, I would be protected, I would become powerful, I would learn magic I could only dream of, and I would become a warrior against my own fears and emerge victorious.
It took me a long time to realize who it was. For a long time, I simply called her My Lady and devoted myself to this unknown goddess. I didn't have to search for her too hard; I was already researching Norse magic and religion as a part of planning my wedding. My first hint was the pressure of a cat, then the idea of a feminine warrior goddess. Soon after, I read about her red-gold tears, and it kind of clicked. Even the title I had given her, My Lady, was her actual name, Freyja, The Lady.
Its been about two years now, and we've been through a lot. I moved to the middle of the woods, learned from two wise women there, left my fiancé, moved back to the city, began healing the trauma that was keeping me from my calling, and discovered a passion that balances me. And when I have doubt, I remember that vision, the only vision I have ever had in my life, and all doubt is erased.
Freyja Devotees 💛
How did you all reach out to her? I've been getting the itch to pray but was hoping you had any tips? Normally, my focus is the Greek pantheon, so this is totally different for me.
Thanks for any help!

Your body is something to be worshipped, an altar at which to pray. Those who do not see that are not worth laying hands on it.
Freyja via Godphone
I did a check in with all the gods I’ve made space for on my altar, to check to see if they were happy with the way things were and if they had anything to say
An Cailleach is the only one who didn’t answer. Everyone else said they were content with how things were and they Brighid very strongly said to trust my intuition, Freyr basically said I need to shoot my shot even if there’s risk. Freyja backed him up and an Morrigan backed up Brighid, with the added message of wanting me to master divination passed pendulum work. Loki and Thor seemed fine with things but didn’t have anything particular to say. It’s hard to describe how exactly the tone of the pendulum changed when it changed from Loki to Thor, but it did and it was fascinating to watch. Hades and Persephone are also happy with things. Hades came off very reserved and business-like and Persephone seemed so eager to answer. Haded confirmed he did ‘tap’ me a while back, so it’s good to know that I didn’t imagine that. And it’s also about the time I was starting to deal with a lot of familial death and dead animals since I was working with the museum at the time. An Morrigan came in shortly there after.
Two gods strongly associated with death at the same time? Probably a coincidence. How did I not recognize that pattern??
