The Morrigan, Goddess of War, Fate, Queen of Phantoms
Information taken from Wikipedia.
The Morrigan is associated with war and foretelling the outcome of battle as well as sovereignty, land, and livestock. In her role as a war goddess she is often depicted as a crow.
She is depicted as a trio of individuals sometimes named as Badb, Macha, and Nemain. Badb the war goddess, sometimes called Badb Catha meaning War Crow, causes confusion and fear so that she can change the outcome of the battle so that her favored side wins. She will also foreshadow a battle or the death of a soldier. Macha is a sovereignty goddess associated with Ulster (a sovereignty goddess is a personification of the land that chooses a ruler). Nemain is the personification of the chaos of war.
This trio is called the three Morrigna. Not much is known about the Morrigan because she is a goddess of ancient Ireland, and the Irish Celts did not write anything down.
