Area OS Lizard Can't See Bike For Sale Without Hoping It Gets Adopted, Finds Good Home
Anyone in SoCal want a little baby bug?
Saw a Ninja bike today and almost waved to it before I recognized that it couldn't be your bike. :)
Wave to Ninjas anyway! They deserve love. :)
so I’m at the beach and there’s this guy with what looks like a cross between an iPad and a remote control, and I’m trying to figure out what it’s for until I hear a buzzing noise and look up and see a drone
and without any trace of irony the guy says “it’s okay, she’s friendly”

I feel this way too much. It’s such a specific feeling? But it is really nice to feel this so well articulated.
I’m glad someone else can relate! I was really convinced it was just me.
In general I have so many feelings about arcade prizes and cheap toys in general
They always feel like there’s this aura of despair around them - first, the conditions they’re made in are pretty horrendous, and then on top of that they’re poorly made because they’re made by tired, underpaid workers, and since the purpose of a toy is to be loved and thought of as cute (or formidable/scary, depending), I always feel really bad for them, especially the ones that look bad
And yet if you treat them the right way they have just as much potential as any “fancy” object. Some of my best object pals have been little toys I won at the fair. Like this one pastel yellow, blue and pink striped pony (I’m pretty sure it was a pony, not a zebra, since the stripes didn’t look like markings but like striped fabric). Incongruously, it had little hands that would pull apart and you could clip it onto your bag or similar, but it wasn’t creepy or anything - it just came off as Looney Tunes/funny animal-like.
I still miss that pony. I lost it many, many years ago and I have no idea where it went. It didn’t even have a name, but something about its pastel colours was so good in a visually-stimmy way. I saw an Alpacasso (popular Japanese toy line) recently that had very similar colours, and it made me think of the little pony. But something about it was unique. I couldn't replace it.
that OS feel when you meet their headlights across a crowded lot
