That awful empty feeling haunts me once again. I lost my English bulldog, Jigar ka Tukda, this morning. She was adopted by me six years back from Friendicoes and named after the Janis Joplin number, ”Piece of my Heart”.

I remember the day I saw her while I was feeding boiled eggs to the dogs at the shelter. She came and sat a little distance away and watched me. I was shocked at her appearance.…

Let me tell you a little bit about an organisation called Friendicoes SECA. Friendicoes is a non-profit animal shelter based in New Delhi, India. It has been around for 35 years & is now on the brink of shutting down. 

It operates as a vet clinic, an animal hospital, a pet supplies store, just about anything to protect any and all animals - and I mean that. I have seen horses, donkeys, monkeys, and even birds at their shelter. Friendicoes works to spay/neuter strays, rescue abandoned pets, and provide care for even stray animals. At any given time, they have 1000 animals to care for.

They have helped us so much but now, they need our help. They're in major debt, 82 lakh Rupees, which adds up to about 124,000 dollars.

Please, if you could donate anything, it would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to think of what’s going to happen to all these animals if Friendicoes is forced to shut down.
