Texas stuff
I think it's high time I wrote my own Texas "facts"
Obvious one - not all Texans own horses or several acres of land though some do
Cowboys are real people and most of them I have met are pretty rich... but there aren't that many of them
The Texas Rangers, our state troopers, wear professionally made Cowboy hats, way cooler than the flat brim most states use
Y'all is used for a group of people no matter how large the size and saying "you guys" can actually be considered rude by some
We stick to calling most things by the most popular brand name (ie Coke, Kleenex, Band-aid) regardless of what brand we are using
The major city people don't have much of an accent due to the major population influx going on for the last 50 years
We have various names for people depending on where they are from: Dallasites, Houstionians, minor cities too
Unless you are in a major city (dallas proper, houston proper) you will most likely be able to look up to a very blue sky, rarely is it "cloudy all day"
Our weather changes a lot but generally most don't feel it's too hot until the high 90s (sometimes we hit the hundred and teens) or too cold until under 50s
Things that are not bigger in Texas: Mountains, Trees, Rivers, Waterfalls...
"Don't mess with Texas" is our anti-Litter campaign but you really shouldn't mess with us also littering is a steep fine and the wrong thing to do
Texas is the "friendly state", but really most people from other states do say we are friendly, honestly we just have a strong belief in good manners like holding open the door and greeting people who you met in passing
