It went without saying that Daphne was exhausted. She had recently started her classes, and they were taking way too much of her time already. She knew this new job would only add to the equation. But, she had to make a paycheck somehow, and the hours were decent enough that she would still get to spend time with her son every day. She really couldn’t complain - but she also couldn’t keep her eyes open. It had been a long week, after all.
It wasn’t until she had bumped into somebody, front first, that her wide eyes flew open, brown orbs looking to the person she had ran into with worry. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry.” She apologized immediately, but even that sounded like she was half asleep.
