A Message From The Frog Resistance
So much hope for humanity <3
Today in American logistics:
The no kings protest is from 12-4, but the kid’s soccer game is from 1:30-2:50ish. He has to be there at 1, and usually the field is 20 minutes away. Sometimes the bridge gets shut down for protesting, but there aren’t great bathrooms by the field so showing up super early isn’t a great idea. He can’t skip today’s game because they only have 11 players today with teammates from a different school out on a trip, and if he doesn’t show, the team can’t play.
I wonder what all I need to have in my bag for the game? If we leave at 12:30, I’ll need to entertain the twins for at least half an hour before the game starts. I’ll need plenty of food and water, and I should make sure we have good masks in case the Feds start throwing tear gas.
I can probably work on my crochet project during the game, but maybe I should make a protest sign? They targeted medics during the 2020 protests, so usually it’s better to keep a low profile. I need to remember to turn off Face ID and fingerprint unlock so the cops can’t use it. If I can’t get back home from the game because the streets are shut, I can probably make it to friend A or friend B’s house, that’s one space on each side of the freeway.
I wonder if the live fire exercises in California are a feint, I can’t figure out whether they’re closing I5 or not. If there is a military response, will it be between the soccer game and home?
A Message From The Frog Resistance
So, my sister lives in Portland. She’s been visiting the ICE facility when she can and of course knows that the ‘war zone’ is a lie. Yes, they have a homeless problem in the city, and crime does happen, but nothing more than any other large city in the U.S. and probably a lot less than most. She tried getting an inflatable costume for Saturday, but they are sold out. She does have a frog hat, though!
