One time we joined a system server, and an alter started proxying. His displayname was basically [his name] some symbols then [Korean petname]. It was matching with his girlfriend who was Korean, and called him that.

Immediately one of the mods made a ticket to discuss it with us and accused us of cultural appropriation and using closed culture names. Keep in mind they did not even know our race at the time and assuming we're white is really weird, and they clearly didn't even know Korean as it wasnt a name (although I understand assuming it was a name it was still weird)

We explained it wasn't his name nor were we using it as a name, it just matched his gf proxy and was a petname. They still insisted he shouldn't be able to use it, and that we were being racist for it. We tried explain for a little longer but they threatened to kick us over it and we just left.

That's just....no words

Let's remember there's a difference between cultural appropriation and using the nickname your partner gives

i was talking about my experiences with grooming once, and my experience was primarily with non-sexual grooming. someone told me since it wasnt sexual it wasn't grooming and was just training??? idk my therapist literally called it grooming and i mentioned that and they were like "your therapist should have their license revoked" IDK I THINK I TRUST THE WORD OF A THERAPIST OVER A RANDOM INTERNET STRANGER??? also not someone i even knew, just someone chiming in, like... obviously professionals are not perfect people either but this therapist was pretty good overall and i trusted her to at least know this considering her primary clientele involved a lot of people who went through that

in general i've seen so much of syscord acting like they know what's better for me than the therapist i've been seeing for years, like... if i'm asking for input on something, that's one thing, but i know my treatment plan and goals and she's done a great job at getting me there, and if i have concerns, she listens and we discuss!

(i'm also aware that not everyone can afford or access a therapist, but on that tangent, i see so much anti-therapy/anti-medical-treatment sentiment in syscord that it's not even funny)

In case anyone needs to hear this, not all grooming is sexual in nature. And if a therapist is going "yeah that's what that was, it doesn't have to be sexual" then I'd say listen to the therapist

tw general speak about predators but no details

when i first discovered i had this disorder i was a little too open about it, nowerdays im a lot more careful. i met this system (lets call her clover, for privacy) in a server that was not directly for systems but had categories for systems

clover briefly modded in this server with a bunch of other systems and other people who also had an influx of disorders - of varying ages; but the people she mainly befriended were the 13 year olds, whereas she was 19

she would accuse one of the other adult systems of being predators for… having a child? literally no other reason other than that system having a child and expressing how they cared about and loved their child.

later on when i became a moderator in this server, long after clover was banned, i had discovered clover would also fake claim this system in mod chats because they “discovered their disorder in their adulthood when most systems discover their disorder as children” which is obviously blatantly false information. DID/OSDD are covert disorders they’re not meant to really be discovered at all 😭

she would INSIST this system was a predator and dangerous with absolutely no base for her claims whatsoever.

ok so i'm a mod in this big server right? not even a system oriented server but there are a few systems right

and this guy who i'll call R comes in, and my system friend's introject of Leona from Twisted Wonderland just offhandedly mentions bcz it was on topic that they were (alter wise) 20. his source is also 20 right ok

and then R proceeded to make a joke insinuating pedophilia towards Leona. and treating leona like source

they're a repeat offender btw. they're boutta get banned

also they lowk blocked two staff members (me included) for confronting them??? like if ur gonna block staff js leave the server atp

If we have said it once, we said it a million times. Alters are not their sources people and don't act like an absolute creep

same 21+ server everyone is talking about, they absolutely do always gush about splitting fictives. that now mod listened to epic the musical then immediately was all over the chats excited about who they would split next, don’t know if that’s what that other person was talking about or if they’ve done it a few times, wouldn’t surprise me at all. they lowkey encourage each other to split “canon mates” in their friends systems so they can roleplay together. and their introjects only listed likes and dislikes are stuff from canon or whatever au, like they have no personality outside of it.

they also are highkey abuse apologists if it’s not them on the receiving end. it’s disgusting. some are friends with people they know are abusers, but it’s not them being abused, so they don’t care.

That's just. Never been more glad to not be in that server because that alongside these other tales make that sound horrifying. Roleplay exists people, roleplay exists (in terms of the wanting introjects and such)

some guy who was anti-system or some shit asked us to "prove" we are a system, the mods agreed with him for some reason and they told us were not a system because our system name is to "common" wtf were they even talking about disocrd is a crazy place

There is no logic there on their parts at all. Especially since how does a sys name determine how valid a system is???
