writing eri is SO HARD. i can usually base character dialogue & mannerisms on people i know, but the little girls i know are scary, sassy little shits!!
i watched a 7 year old girl stalk up to a boy and tell him “so i see you’re a mama’s boy, huh?!” and proceed to verbally THRASH him. once, a 5 year old girl whispered into my ear, “i’m gonna eat everyone’s heads. all of them ‘cept for you and my little brother, don’t worry.”
Updates for Everyone’s patience
I duly apologize to everyone for not posting as often as some writers on here do. As some of you are aware, and the newer followers may not know, aside from work and family obligations, I am also a full time student finishing two associate degrees at the same time. And in at least one class (math go figure) I’m struggling so my focus has been on school as my homework is never ending. But I graduate with both degrees in May so an end is in sight!
That being said, I am still constantly writing and working on my book, on paper or in my head. Like any good writer, it consumes me even when I cannot work on it. My wife can attest to annoying bouts of brainstorming thrown her way whenever we have a long drive haha.
-------------------
So here is where I am so far in the story for any interested parties. I am a pantser through and through, a method writer of sorts. I see the story unfolding in my mind and rush to keep up as it happens, writing down everything I see like a notetaker during a movie, feeling the emotions as it happens. Raw and in the moment.
However, I was finally convinced to take a step back and try doing an outline which has always failed and bored me to tears in the past. Well this time it actually worked. Miraculous I know! I managed to outline and plan the entire first act, as well as a portion of the second act, and my ending. Now I am just filling in the blanks of where my story is going in the second half of the book. I have 9 fully written chapters, and 4 tentative chapters that I may change a little thanks to my new outline.
I have also come under some revelations and secrets about my characters that I knew they had, but not the content, that finally helped flesh them out further and give reason for some of their interactions with each other making it more organic. I struggle most with character interaction due to my own shortcomings but I am loving the progress.
One last note; I normally use scrivener to organize everything, however I am experimenting with Dabble for something different. If anyone has any advice or experience regarding Dabble, let me know your thoughts vs other writing mediums for the actual writing or organization. I would love to hear your opinions as I am not overly familiar with anything outside Scrivener.

I'm starting a movement to get "From Dust" on backwards compatibility on xbox cause that is a classic xbox live arcade game
I love it when people ask me about my book but also I just.. fumble and stutter and I don't know what to say as if I don't spend every waking moment thinking about them and wanting them to be better
Here we are, don't turn away now, We are the warriors that built this town From Dust.
