Drummers Drumming- Twelve Facts About My Holiday Life
Every year for New Year’s Eve, I go and visit my friend Liam and his family.
They have a box of New Year’s supplies, which contains the same confetti that we have been using since our youth. Every year, we write a memory from our New Year’s visit on the box.
One of our New Year’s traditions used to be going to this one Indian Buffet, but they have now moved to another state, so that’s a bit impossible.
I buy a christmas tree with my grandparents the day after Thanksgiving every year.
Ever since I was a kid, I would only hang the ornaments I found pretty. Most of which were shaped like birds.
My grandparents, without fail, leave up one christmas decoration long after christmas is over. It is now very easy to decorate, since most of the decorations are up permanently.
When I was a kid, I used to leave Santa questions to answer along with cookies. I was very curious about North Pole life.
My father’s birthday is very near Thanksgiving, so Thanksgiving always ends up being a very large affair, since we’re celebrating two things.
Every member of my family likes a different kind of pie, so we always have way too much pie for Thanksgiving. Way too much pie.
I watch The Nightmare Before Christmas every year to get in the christmas spirit.
We have to wait for the entire family to show up to open presents and it is the hardest thing in the world, because they all roll in around 2pm and it’s really hard to stare at all your stuff for that long.
This list took me forever, because I don’t have that many traditions. I’m very sorry.
