This female barred fruiteater (Pipreola arcuata) is a member of the wonderful Contingidae, which contains fat birds with stubby legs who eat a whole lot of fruit! ...they also have a bad habit of eating baby birds for bonus protein; family member Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruviana) is particularly infamous for this!
