The FRUiTs Fashion Competition has a new category this year; Lolita Fashion! That means that all styles that fall under the variations of Lolita fashion are eligible for their own prize.

AICon 2014 - FRUiTs Update

There are some FRUiTs contestants that have not replied to their emails. Please do so as there is important information being requested and given crucial to the competition. Failure to do so may result in non-eligibility to compete.

DigiVisiPop - Online FRUiTS Competition Announcement

DigiVisiPop will be running a FRUiTS fashion online photo competition that will be open to all Australian residents and all subcultural fashion types.

The competition categories will be;

Overall

Best Lolita

Best Steampunk

Best Gijinka

Best Goth/Visual Kei

Best General/Other (ie something that doesn't fit under the other categories)

This post is to give people time to work on entries. Entries will open November 3rd and close November 20th and all entries will be posted to the AICon facebook page for 2 weeks of fan voting and then judged offline to get a combined score. Please note photo composition is important, we want more then just a photo of you in your outfit posing at a convention. The competition will also be open to photographers.

ANNOUNCING CHANGES TO AICON/MAICON COSPLAY AND FRUITS CONTESTS

We've made a couple of changes to both competitions and these will be in effect from MAICon this year.

COSPLAY

- There will now be an under 12's category for Cosplay. This category will not be judged (let's face it, who can stare a cute kid in the eye and tell them they don't win a prize), but each participant will receive something small for taking part.

FRUiTs

- My Little Pony, Pokemon, Digimon and other non human creature based outfits will now only be allowed in FRUiTs as they're considered to be Gijinka outfits, not cosplay. If you have made a cosplay of the ACTUAL character (think of the awesome Jigglypuff cosplay that was seen at AICon 2010) you will still be allowed to enter Cosplay. 

Also a friendly reminder that FRUiTs is open to ALL alternative street fashions and sub culture fashions, not just Japanese.

  Entries for Cosplay and FRUiTs Competitions at MAICon will open Mid July, so keep an eye out.
