AICon 2017 is still in need of volunteers to ensure it can do the best it can!

Volunteers get free entry, can still participate in contests and events, can get rostered on their favourite event so they don't miss out, get lunch breaks, and earn experience towards bulking up your resume or to fill in a required amount of volunteering hours! You do not need prior experience and you can be assigned to areas with a friend.

If you are coming to the makeup workshop tomorrow, we would appreciate it if you could bring your own standard makeup. Including powder (any is fine), foundation and concealer, eyeshadow and eyeliner (pencil and/or liquid) if you have it.

Face paint and other supplies will be provided. If you do not have any of the above, do not worry, as we will have some available for use. However, it would be helpful if you brought your own as our supply of foundation, concealer and eye shadow is limited.

AICon AMV Competition

Ever wanted to see a race to the Pokemon battle theme?  Or see a battle between the folks from Tokyo Ghoul and Digimon? Well, Anime Music Videos (AMV’s) are where you can make it happen. Put your video editing to the test and enter our competition for the chance to win prizes,  get your AMV shown on the big screen and the adoration of anime nerds everywhere…  in Tasmania. Try your hand at entering and, as long as it’s your work, we’ll accept it.  Beginner or expert all entries are welcome and encouraged. Entries are also accepted from international parties. QYOT will be running two panels at AICon 2017!

Queer Youth of Tasmania will be running two panels at AICon 2017. "Being Queer in Hobart" - Let the representatives of Queer Youth of Tas fill you in on the services available to LGBT youth in Tasmania. The group itself hosts a variety of services, from regular social meet ups and counselling groups. "Queerness in Pop Culture" - Gays, lesbians and BiSexuals, oh my~ LGBT representation in media is growing steadily and this is a showcase of the good, bad and the ugly.

The City Of Hobart's Youth Programs team is based at the Youth Arts & Recreation Centre located at 44 Collins Street, Hobart. We have a commitment to create and deliver fun, safe and professional projects and events with and for young people in the community. The Youth Arts & Recreation Centre is a creative, exciting, safe and engaging space for all young people aged 12 – 25. It’s a great place to meet up with friends, get involved in an art, music or recreation workshops, use facilities, check out an art exhibition or see a music gig. Best of all most things are free!

AK Wirru will be appearing at AICon 2017! Wirru is an Australian based Cosplayer who has won multiple awards and also represented Australia at the World Cosplay Summit! He will be holding panels and demonstrations as well as judging the AICon Cosplay Competition! When Wirru is not in events, he will be at his booth selling Cosplay Prints and Booklets, and Tutorial Booklets.
