ik you're crashing but you'll see this when you wake up
Im curious about your favorite scene from true romance and why
I'm guessing the shootout scene at the end (bc it's loyalty and love on full display and also guns lol) or the phone booth sex scene (for obvs reasons 😉)
Am I close?
Good morning my Frumoasă,
I crashed soooo hard last night my love. I quite enjoyed waking up to your messages ☺️.
I have a few favorite moments
1- when they are at the dinner and Clarence is asking Alabama all these questions and she tells him to stop and take it from the top . I don’t know why but that scene just does something to me.
2- I’m just putting the quote because I fucking loved it exactly has it was stated
“I'm not eatin' 'cause I'm not hungry. I'm not sittin' 'cause I'm not stayin'. I'm not lookin' at the movie 'cause I saw it seven years ago. It's "The Mack" with Max Julien, Carol Speed, and Richard Pryor. I'm not scared of you. I just don't like you. In that envelope is some payoff money. Alabama's moving on to some greener pastures. We're not negotiatin'. I don't like to barter. I don't like to dicker. I never have fun in Tijuana. That price is non-negotiable. What's in that envelope is for my peace of mind. My peace of mind is worth that much. Not one penny more, not one penny more.”
And of course the violence that ensues and when he does finally go back and get em. The conversation with him and Elvis in the mirror was relatable.
3-The sex scene in the phone booth… I couldn’t stop thinking about that being you and I the entire time. I’m a huge fan of anything in public. Just the need being so strong that idgaf who’s around because your fucking mine and I need you right this goddamn second. If only phone booths were still around. You can still occasionally find them around Europe. Guess we’ll have to take our trip sooner rather than later. We really should just recreate scenes from this entire movie together.
4- I’m so all over the place this morning but I also love when they are smoking on the roof and she’s admiting to him she’s a call girl and he just doesn’t give a flying fuck because he knows how he feels about her and the rest be damned. When you know you fucking know. I love how his love for her is ride or die. I love the violence, the love making, the need for it all.
I remember at the end I was terrified that Clarence had died and the relief I felt along with Alabama in that moment 😮💨
I am not one for romances movies typically but this was it for me.
I ended up buying this movie on accident when I meant to rent it but it’s a good thing I own it because I’m going to rewatch tonight. I’ll be thinking of you my dove.
Yours,
T
