I really hope the cover of the 500th chapter will feature a colored version of Rahkeid
Anyone complaining that Hiro never kills off characters and it was obvious Mira would come back, be honest: Would you really be satisfied if Mira died like that? Even if she got to give a goodbye speech, that would be way too sudden a death for such a major character. Gajeel’s would’ve been justified, he received the majority (or at least half) of a chapter for his send off, and if he had stayed dead I would have been sad but satisfied. There was plenty of build up, many words of send off, and he still had his last hurrah before he almost died. Mirajane just defeated two semi-powerful henchmen, got tortured for less than a minute, and was shot through the heart. I knew she wasn’t gonna die, but I didn’t know how she would be saved, so it was still shocking and suspenseful to me. Also, on a side note, it made sense how Brandish saved Mira to me. She can manipulate matter, and increasing the size of the skin and cardiac tissue to reduce the severity of the wound is reason enough for Mira to be alive. I don’t think we should be taking the line “My wound was made smaller” too literally. Mira wasn’t saying the wound itself was physically shrunk. Not to mention, that could have been a translation error anyway. In conclusion, stop whining about things without thinking about the alternative first. And if you would’ve been OK with Mirajane dying like that, just because we “No one ever dies in Fairy Tail”, then you clearly don’t understand why and how characters should be killed off in literature. You shouldn’t kill off characters for the sake of doing so. It has to mean something, serve a purpose other than drama. Yes, it is important to create drama and suspense as well, but if your really WANT characters to die, even just one, then it seems Hiro has failed to establish a connection between you and the characters in FT. But I’ve said too much already.
Chapter 493 more like what even is anatomy ?!
