Alex could blame himself for asking him out when really, he just sucks at the whole ‘date’ thing, or he could blame Gabe for making him so fucking soft that he was asking him out on dates. Either way, he found himself in this predicament where he made promises to Gabe yet he has no fucking clue where he’s taking him or what they should do. Maybe it was his nerves that was clogging his brain, or maybe he really does just suck at this. There’s no backing out of it now, right? For two reasons: one being that if he cancelled on Gabe now, won’t that just make him seem like the asshole? And another being he really, really wanted to take him out and call it a date. Eventually, telling himself to “suck it up and wing it”, Alex was already standing outside his tent (he would go in himself, but last time he did that he walked in on a very angry person changing and had a shoe thrown at him) with a box of pizza in his hands. How pathetic is he going to look to Gabe when he sees him? Probably a lot, but this sure as hell is much better than bailing, right? He liked Gabe, much more than he would be willing to admit --- so he was going to try. This might be a sad attempt at it, but hell, it was something. Taking out his phone from his pocket, he texted Gabe and let him know he was waiting outside. After tonight, he’ll officially become the world’s worst “date planner” if that’s even a thing --- if it isn’t, then this’ll probably just start the trend.{ stfu--gabe}
