How Does Lahar Deal With His Crush?

When Lahar first catches feelings, he’s actually not quite aware of it... He tries to rationalize why he likes to spend time with this person more or feels more protective of them. He’ll run circles around the realization that he is falling in love with them for quite a long time until finally it just clicks in his head and he’s like “... Oh.” 

After he realizes that he is in love with someone, he gets very flustered very easily! This person is a radiant sun in his eyes, and he feels that he’ll be blinded if he gets too close. However, he also feels the overwhelming need to be close to his crush. He’ll seek them out in slow hours of the workday, or stay close to their side during missions, especially if it’s a dangerous one. 

Lahar doesn’t feel self-conscious about himself in any way; he’s going to take his time preening his feathers, but this bird isn’t going to simmer on his feelings and let someone else catch the worm! 

He’s a meticulous sort and will practice his confession religiously in his head until he feels it can just smoothly roll off of his tongue. Doesn’t help him much, though, as when he finally gets his crush alone, he freezes. He’ll grow pink-faced and embarrassed at his failure, but finally manages to squeak out some semblance of “Would you like to go to dinner?” He’s so endearing when he’s flustered, so who could say no?

Lahar is no skimp; he’s taking the object of his affections to only the highest-rated restaurant and securing the absolute best seat in the house. What’s the point of having a high government position if he won’t use it? Immaculate wine, immaculate food, immaculate ambiance... It’s enough to make everybody swoon! After a lovely dinner exchanging all the necessary pleasantries, Lahar will reach across the table to gently grasp his crush’s hands, with a faint dust of pink on his cheeks as he finally voices exactly what he’s feeling. He’s sure got a way with words, and the honest things he says about his crush is sure to have them toppling head-over-heels!

Jealous Lahar Headcanons

Lahar is a strict and firm man, and this aspect of his personality can most definitely lead to some jealousy. It isn’t that he has low self-esteem, has trust issues, or is overly possessive; he just doesn’t appreciate someone else hassling you. He’ll leave you to attend to the annoyance without much care until you shoot him a nervous side-eye with a clear cry for help. This man will then jump into the fray without a moment’s hesitation, sidling up beside you to smirk and wind his arm around your waist. 

“Why, there you are, darling. I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” 

Lahar isn’t the type to openly squabble or make a scene, so his choice of action will be to swing you around and guide you to another area. If, however, the annoyance decides to insinuate that you’re much better off with a real man, Lahar just can’t help but get a little frustrated. How dare someone imply, or even come right out and say, that he is lesser? Red-faced, he’ll glare over his shoulder and deliver some choice words, some that you wouldn’t think would ever come out of his refined mouth... 

“Who the fuck do you think you’re talking to? One more word out of your filthy mouth and you won’t have a tongue to squawk with anymore.” Definitely enough to make an old lady faint, but seeing him so riled up sure is exciting! He’ll make haste to spirit you away from the thug, then immediately flush red and sputter apologies about his coarse language. He’ll get extra embarrassed if you tell him how sexy he looked; poor baby will be so flustered he’ll barely be able to speak. Shyly, he’ll give you a kiss to the cheek or the temple and chuckle. 

“I just couldn’t help myself... You deserve to be treated like a queen, and I won’t stand for a ruffian to jeer at you like that.”

What a gentleman, but hey, even gentlemen have their limits... Woe to anyone who dares disrespect Lahar’s queen, because he’ll waste no time in reminding them why he’s feared and respected.

Gray and Lahar from Fairy Tail when meeting s/o’s family🥺

Hey, dearie! Sorry for the slight delay; been quite busy attending to requests and events and whatnot :3 Here are your headcanons~! I hope you enjoy them. :)

How Gray and Lahar React to Meeting Their S/O’s Family

Gray

To be honest, Gray gets a little nervous when meeting his s/o’s family! As I have said many times before, this poor baby has some self-confidence issues. Here’s a basic rundown of how this memorable night will go: 

Gray is definitely going to try to hide his anxiety. He knows how important it is to his s/o to meet their family, and he doesn't want to upset them with his misgivings. It’s not that he doesn’t like their family; he’s terrified their family won’t like him!

He’ll make sure to dapper himself up and be presentable. He’ll even try to tame his unruly fluffy hair, but by the time they’ve made it to the front door, it’s already sticking up again. He’s a blushing mess trying to pin it down. 

He’ll straighten up like a rod when the door opens. He’ll flash a nervous smile, exchange the necessary pleasantries; he’s obviously unnerved, but the initial meeting goes well. 

His s/o’s family has arranged a nice home meal. Gray will sit close to his s/o, holding their hand under the table and bouncing his leg to try and channel all the nervous energy. 

Gray starts to fidget a little when he turns the topic of conversation. It isn’t that he necessarily has something to hide, it’s just that he’s terrified he’ll say something that paints him in a bad light. He’d hate for his s/o to have a falling out with their parents over him! He answers the questions honestly but succinctly and often tries to direct the conversation away. 

Gray somehow makes it through dinner and takes a quick bathroom break to gather his thoughts. When his s/o comes to check on him, he’s subconsciously stripped down and is trying to hype himself up in the mirror. XD They scramble to get his clothes back on and calm him down before hurrying back out before his s/o’s parents get too suspicious. 

He’s on edge the entire time and leaves with a bellyache, but somehow, they make it through all right! His s/o is very grateful that Gray has struggled through the ordeal for them. He’ll smile sweetly and throw a big arm around them to kiss them on the cheek and say, “Anything for you.” 

Lahar

Unlike Gray, Lahar is a bit more confident when meeting his s/o’s family. What does he have to fear? Here’s how it would go: 

Lahar would insist on taking her s/o’s family out to a nice, very established restaurant. He’s got a great job and makes plenty of money, so it’s the least he can do!

He and his s/o will be dressed to impress. Lots of heads will turn when they stroll in the building. He hates it when his s/o gets unwanted attention, however, so he’ll make it a point to hug his s/o close. 

When the family arrives, he’ll graciously stand and shake hands and pull out chairs; this man is the epitome of grace and poise. It’d make you wonder if he’s descended from royalty. 

Lahar is totally at ease throughout the entire process. He knows he’s of good stock and has absolutely nothing to hide from these people, so he is very eager to dive into a conversation about himself. Of course, he’s not vain, so when he feels he’s been talking too much, he’ll subtly veer the talk to another topic. 

Honestly, his s/o will probably be more nervous than him; it’s stressful, introducing your lover to your parents for the first time! He’ll notice his s/o’s anxieties, so he’ll gently squeeze their hand or flash them a reassuring look from time to time, or even lean in to whisper in their ear that everything is going fine. 

Really, everything goes splendidly. As he and his s/o are leaving, his s/o exhales this big sigh of relief and hugs him, thanking him for braving this new territory with them. Lahar will smile and insist that he’ll brave anything for his s/o, and besides, their parents seemed like very lovely people. He’ll definitely look forward to next time.
