She’s doing her best to try and forget it. But Jac could help. Maybe might be happy to take a fraction of it away. Maybe mute Mortcombe’s laughter. Tucking her hair behind her ear, Valerie awkwardly shifts near the door. “So, okay. How do we do this? Do I stand or...?” She trails off with a nervous chuckle.
