maybe it wasn't the best idea, but emilia was desperate, and it was a simple little white lie so she didn't think it was a big issue. she'd wandered into the coffee shop across the street to wait for the right partner in crime to stroll in, and the second kyla walked in, she knew she'd found her. after offering to buy her a coffee, she'd invited the woman to sit down with her, exchanged a few pleasantries to set the vibe, and then she knew she had to get right down to business. "so, this might sound a little bit weird, but will you fake date me?" she asked blunty before realizing how that sounded. "i need someone else on the lease to get this really cool studio apartment, so i just need someone to pretend to be my partner. your name will only be on the lease, but i'm obviously not gonna make you stay or pay rent, you know?"
