Hayes had been working for the entirety of the day, only stopping for enough time to drink water or eat a quick snack. It was the only thing managing to keep his mind occupied and off the war. “Hey Luca, can you come over here for a second.” He called, having noticed her enter the room a while ago.
Alya: I have a pretty impressive display of pink roses sitting on the coffee table in my office.

Description: Aaron explains to Destiny what Roman is to him
Trigger Warnings: nothings just cute
Candy Land was a game of pure luck. There was no skill needed to play the game at all. So he was confused as to how his 5 year old won three games in a row. He was pretty much convinced that she was cheating at this point, but had no way of proving it— also he loved the way she giggle and cheered each time she won so he kept letting it slide.
“Daddy.” The little girl stopped him as he was shuffling the cards for the next round. She climbed onto his lap and looked over at the business owner. She gave him a toothy smile. “Where’s Ro Ro?” She asked, cocking her head a little bit causing one of her blonde pigtails to hit the side of her face. She had gotten used to him being around a lot and spending time with them at this point. Aaron looked at his watch and thought for moment. “He’s working.” At this point, Roman was getting ready for his show tonight. He loved how close his daughter and his boyfriend were and it meant to the world to him that Roman loved her. He firmly believed that one couldn’t love all of Aaron unless they loved his child too. And Roman loved all of him.
Aaron hadn’t dated since Destiny was born. He was terrified of bringing people into her life would just end up using him for his money or end up being a bad person. Those people tended to gravitate towards Aaron. He really had just decided to give up on dating for the his kid’s first five year and introducing his partners to his daughter all together until he met Roman.
“Actually, baby. That reminds me...” He began, taking a deep breath. He never had to have this conversation with his daughter, and didn’t think he would ever have to. “You like your room in Roman’s house and spending time with him right?” The blonde nodded furiously. “Destiny...He cleared his throat as she looked up at him with her big, blue eyes. “Roman is my boyfriend. Do you know what that means?” The little girl let out a big giggle. “it means you love him, Daddy!” She exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air. He sighed with relief. She seemed happy about the news.
“Most of my friend’s mommies and daddies - or both their daddies - are married.” His kid was woke. But this was New York. She basically had no choice. “I know you and mommy aren’t married...” She began, looking a little confused. Aaron knew that his relationship with Alison would get confusing for her when she started school, and met other kids with more traditional families The businessman was surprised that she had waited for so long to ask him about it. He took a deep breathe. “I love your mom very much. But not in the same way that I love Roman.” He told her. He stretched his head a little as his kid shifted in his lap. This was probably so confusing for her. “I love your mom like I love you. But I love Roman like the way Mars’ mommies love each other.” He explained. The were really the best example that he could give his daughter so that she would be able to understand. It seemed to click with her after he explained it to her that way.
He bit his lip and took another deep breath. “Are you okay with me and Roman dating?” He asked her, playing with one of her pigtails. She nodded wildly and gave him another toothy smile. "Daddy’s got a boyfriend, Daddy’s got a boyfriend!!” She yelled repeatedly, prompting Aaron to immediately start hushing her and telling her to use her inside voice, but he couldn’t help but laugh though. He was so relieved. He was terrified to have this conversation with her. He wasn’t sure why because he already knew how deeply Destiny cared for Roman, and genuinely enjoyed spending time with him.
“Does mommy have a boyfriend?” She paused. “Or girlfriend?” Aaron chuckled, but his smile quickly faded. “Uh --” He was stalling. He didn’t know what Alison wanted to share with Destiny about Luca. Not to mention, if Aaron confirmed that Alison was dating someone to his daughter he would have to no choice but to give Alison the go ahead to let Destiny around Luca. He cleared his throat. “Ask your mom about that when she gets home from California.” He blinked. That was the best way to avoid uncomfortable questions asked by your kid -- just ask the other parent.
Destiny hopped down from Aaron’s lap and motioned for him to continue shuffling the cards for another game. He felt a weight lift off of his shoulders. That was easier than he thought it would be.
