Happy, Natsu & Nalu 504

On a more serious note, I wanted to point out why I think the last chapter was a serious development for NaLu. I am not a NaLu fan that gets excited about the slightest interaction. I do however pay close attention to the emotions and character building which I am being shown by Mashima. I love to character profile and piece things together. So you can take my observations however you like, but I am doing this for a bit of fun.

Natsu has always taken what Happy has to say seriously, unlike the other guild members he always listens even in the heat of battle.

After the Zeref fight, Happy specifically asked Natsu to look for another way and not to go after Zeref because he doesn’t want Natsu to die. Natsu having a high regard for his best friends feelings agrees to this. I have never seen Natsu do anything that would directly hurt Happy. Even if you don’t support NaLu the strength of friendship between Natsu and Happy is irrefutable. 

In the latest chapters, we have seen that the shock of “losing” Lucy has made the urge for revenge paramount in Natsu’s mind. Now I know friendship bonds can be strong but to take president over the request of his oldest friend. I don’t think so unless it’s because of love.Natsu also made a promise after Igneels death to become stronger so that he isn’t helpless to do anything about it again. In Natsu’s mind, Lucy dying is like him not being able to do anything again, which broke him. If Lucy was just a friend he would have just thought to himself I’m going to gather the rest of FT and kick some ass for you, but he hasn’t, he took this very personally. Enough to go on a vendetta to kill Zeref despite knowing the consequences for himself. Enough to fight seriously against a guildmate, which Natsu said before the war kicked off that he wouldn’t do unless it was a test of strength. So what could provoke Natsu to attack Gray who is in his own guild, who is essentially his best male friend next to Happy? The only reason I can think of...he is in love with Lucy. Lucy has become more than guild to Natsu, she has become part of his family, just like Happy and Igneel. 

 So if NaLu doesn’t happen I am calling absolute BS (but I highly doubt Mashima will troll us that hard). 

By the way, My Demons by Starset really suits NaLu at the moment, well I think so at least xD
