what really gets me about this whole 'but what if eddie and buck get together!' anxiety spiral that this fandom regularly goes through is. well. it literally doesn't really matter, does it? they could become the forever endgame ship tomorrow and they would still paint the most miserable fucking picture ever. it won't mean anything because they will literally never be bucktommy and the thing is, that's what everyone actually wants, including your local buddies. they don't want this lame, unhappy, barely-there relationship either, that's why they've made up a whole alternative canon where eddie is a fully fleshed out character and he and buck have a relationship founded on mutual trust and respect and deep love. but the reality is, that's just fucking bucktommy. and buddie could never compare, not when there's canon bucktommy and canon whatever the fuck buddie is. the two could never compare and we all know it. people literally yearn for bucktommy. some of them are just too stuck in their need to be Right, and they're so desperate to win some invisible competition, that they've fully convinced themselves that rooting for this fuckass sad bloated corpse of a fictional relationship is worth it. it's not. you just want bucktommy to happen. my god. you just want bucktommy.
