my boyfriend is a cis guy and he’s only ever had relationships or hooked up with other cis guys. i’m sick (chronically ill) and i was talking about how difficult it is to get a doctor to listen to me, both because i’m afab and because im trans.
he has seen things online about women and afabs being dismissed in the medical world before, but it blew his mind that it was actively happening to someone he loves
i was a bit frustrated at first because i thought, “this is common knowledge.” but he really didn’t know this stuff happened as frequently as it does and he started getting so upset about it
he was more upset about how the medical system treats me than i was
friendly reminder that doctors and the medical system have never and still don’t take women and afabs pain and concerns seriously 🫶🏻 and cis men, queer or not, largely do not know this
