please tell us the story about your dad and hey soul sister

my dad is a pretty flexible, levelheaded guy and has never made a big deal about spending all his time with his wife and two daughters who have a lot of conventionally "feminine" interests, but occasionally the three of us would like something that he would HATE and that thing for a little bit was "hey soul sister" when it came out (idk man, i was like 10). he HATED that song so, so much. if we tried to play it, he would turn it off or leave the room, which he had never done with a song before. and one afternoon, we were all in the car on the way to dinner and he was driving and my mom turned on the car stereo and my dad was like "if u play that 'hey soul sister' song, i am going to jump out of the car" and my mom was like "oh whatever, i want to hear it!!" and she turned the song on and my dad, who is still driving the car, opened his car door while we were fully going 40 mph down a road and started to stick his leg out. so now i dont like that song because its bad and because it makes me think about being convinced my dad was going to tuck and roll out of a moving car
