discrimination is not cool, i love this photo.
My thoughts
I'm going to say something. And you can judge me all you want but I need to say it. Why the actual fuck does discrimination and inequality exist? I'm basing this rant off of a post I reblogged that said "why do we even need to vote on things like gay and womens rights like why are we even voting on whether someone gets rights or not" It's not only this but why discrimination for race, gender, sexuality, religion, sports team for gods sakes?! If we can't live with the universal trust that you won't get hurt for one of these things then we don't have a good society. I'm not saying people have to change their opinions. I'm not saying people have to change themselves. What I am saying is that people should respect people! If we can't do that, if we can't do that one simple thing then we are just people that coexist on the same massive body of water and rock and I don't like that. My parents always told me that help was a universal word and that if you yelled that, someone would hopefully come to help you. And I believed them. Why can't we have universal trust where people can have equal rights. I mean honestly, is is 20 fucking 15. Why is there a difference between asking for help if you're getting attacked by an animal or if you need help with groceries vs if people are mentally or verbally calling for help because they are being bullied or beaten because of their race or gender or sexuality? There really shouldn't be a difference! People should have rights. Whether you are a boy or girl or no matter your race and sexuality or religion taste in bands or sports teams. I can tell you right now that I guess I can be considered an atheist, I am a girl, I like certain bands, I am straight and I don't like watching sports. That's just me. I respect people that are the complete opposite of me. I reference Voltaire when I say that I may disagree with everything they/you say but I will defend to the death their/your right to say it. I have rights. You have rights. Everyone should have rights. Why is this so hard for some people to understand? Anyways I just needed to make a statement. That's my opinion. Feel free to disagree if you wish. -Kayla
I'm proud ❤️
You are against racism and discrimination ? Look at this video that my friend made for a company, youll enjoy it, Im pretty sure about that😘
One of the major things people seem to miss when discussing any issue of inequality in society, be it gender, racial, sexual orientation, ect., is that it is not just the victims of discrimination and oppression that suffer from said discrimination and oppression. As long as part of a society is being harmed, it is harmful to the whole society. Taking the patriarchy as an example- the patriarchy is directly harmful to women, but women are not a separate entity outside of society. They are a part of society. About fifty percent, give or take a few, in fact. So when people claim that men shouldn't care about women's issues, there's a problem. A big problem. A lake may not consist entirely of pollutants, but pollutants damage the entire ecosystem. When a part of society suffers, all of society suffers. As long as there is one person being discriminated against for their gender, their sexuality, their race, ect., it is not the victim's problem- it's every single member of a society's problem, as it is society that is allowing the conditions that allow discrimination to exist in the first place, and that victim is part of said society. Equality is, by its very definition, a two-way street. By helping others, we are helping ourselves- "ourselves" not being a demographic, but us, as human beings, as one world, one species, one loose conglomeration of stupid little apes crawling around on a chunk of rock. This... This little planet is the best we've got. So let's work to improve it together. All of us.
