So this was the haul from this morning at the #Glebe foreshore. About 4-5kgs it doesn't look like much for 3 people to pick up in 1 hour but it was all micro plastic and cigarette butts. Micro plastic is the stuff that has been out in the weather for long enough that it breaks down into tiny pieces making it particularly hard to collect but extremely easy for the fish to eat. It needed to be caught a lot earlier but we did the best we could. Thank you so much to my awesome friends for lending a hand. People think I have turned into a tree hugging anti-plastic hippy freak of late. (She is banging on about plastic again) That's really not the case at all! I have been a tree loving hippy from way back, but what has changed is that, I have realised the importance of clean water, fertile plants & animals and humans absolute reliance on these things for survival. If we don't make a conscious effort to be more stainable in the way we live our lives the next generation will not have the luxury or fresh air, beautiful beaches & a delightful assortment of fruits & vegetables to enjoy. So do the little bit you can and say no to single use plastic, no straw thanks, no lid thanks, no bag thanks, I have my own bag.
