I feel like I can always come to you and ask you stuff :) So here's my question: I've bought peanut butter for the first time and idk if I bought the right one. There was a organic one but from the calories... there was no difference. So I bought the cheapest with the lowest callories. And is it normal for peanut butter to have about 650cal per 100g? :)
Hello love! I'm glad you feel like you can come to me for advice, so feel free to do it whenever! :)
It's totally normal for peanut butter to have that many calories - it is after all made from nuts, which have natural fat in them! The key when choosing your peanut butter is looking at the ingredients: sometimes, cheaper varieties will have all sorts of chemicals or preservatives in them. Really, the only things that should be in peanut butter are peanuts, and eventually a little bit of oil and a smidge of salt - anything else isn't that great, to be honest!
Having said that, I don't want you to stress out about this! You're probably not going to be having more than a couple of tablespoons of this per day, so don't fret. Just try and pay more attention when you're buying it next time, and above all remember, it's not always about the calories, but it IS always about the NUTRITION. Some foods can be low cal and utterly shit for you, while some high cals foods will be excellent for your health. Bear in mind it isn't always black and white! :)
Hope this helps hun (and hope you don't mind, but I'm publishing this because I think it'll be of use to others!)
