Headcanons

Gajeel and Erik 🐍🐉

Both had known each other since they were kids but didnt know it due to memory tampering due to a spell and given horrible masters.

Were the most destructive of their guild and only sent out if absolute desperate sitautions

Hated each other at first due to being almost equals and having a rivalry with both dark guilds. Blue Skull and Oracion Seis were rivals

Erik was Gajeel's boss when it came to control with dark guilds which is why they met in secret

Gajeel only tolerates Fairy Tail and during off days hangs out with Erik

Gajeel knows Cobra's real name is Erik, but most of the time never calls him that out of respect since it brings out bad memories of slave days. When they are alone is when its appropriate

Gajeel has a strong resistance to Erik's poison and due to this the poison dragon slayer knows they can spar without any precautions

Erik sometimes trips Gajeel up by saying he can hear his thoughts which are great distractions and disadvantages to win an argument

When on missions they usually leave no survivors since Erik could read their minds so no reason for it. Also wouldnt want any need for new enemies for the future. They learned that after saving the kids for slave traders

Day 3 History/Odd Affection

Blue Skull was the first Dark Guild in Fiore to be feared and corrupted with other dark mages which held power of magic and sorcery. With its force it ripped apart ever chance of any light guild of ever being formed annihilated and stayed in power until a war broke around it. The name then changed to Phantom Lord under new management where other dark guilds started to surface and challenge it. The lesser dark guilds didnt have any chance of taking over. So the former guild of Blue Skull was victorious until the Barium Alliance which was coordinated into three powerful dark guilds took over. Since it was in the same regional area in Magnolia the dark guild known as Oracion Seis was in charge of it.

The two Guild Masters Jose Porla that ran Phantom Lord, and Brain who was on control of the Oracion Seis realized they each had a dragon slayer in their ranks of individual guild fortress. Their creed in power categorized them as Independent, dangerous and volatile if threatened by the wrong side. Due to this unpredictible nature both guild masters felt their destructive behavior of having dragon magic would pose as an obstacle, or threat if they were allowed to meet. On the plus side it may have added to their power in alliegence. That risk was too great for the masters reputation to even gamble upon releasing the balance of power, to instead manipulate these dark dragons as pawns for their own goal. There was no telling how it would affect the other guilds, but it was a calculated error later on.

Phantom Lord's dragon slayer seized to be free and did his own destructive behavior just for the hell of it. Master Jose who was also a Saint Wizard with dark sinister plans of his own corrupted the system like most powerful mages have done in the past and vast still doing. Often he be forced to reel in Gajeel making sure he didn't call too much attention when fighting guilds as the ruse of PL being a light guild would throw off the magic council. Even so Oracion Seis's dragon slayer kept sharp eye on him in a discreet manner, just making sure that his guild did its job and give payment whenever it was due. The two slayers had never really interacted that much as they prioritized their guild's as territorial. Cobra thought his guild was better since it oversaw Gajeel's, but he barely made his presence known just so no one was able to detect him. It worked for all the guildmates except Black Steel being a dragon slayer with heightened dragon senses and instincts exploited his cover by lurking after him.

This irritated the poison dragon slayer as his working in the shadows exploited his whereabouts. Often the two would secretly spar with each other in a secluded area in the forest even though they traded insults of wanting to kill the other, but it never happened. The reason wasnt quite clear, but seeing the other as a equal may have played a part. Having a criminal upbringing fixated that they understood the world of how things could be perceived as the dark or light world which their choice was to paint it black and see the world burn. Influence over the conditioning of their guildmasters that had only known to be successful you needed fear and power to exist and function over the weaklings. Both dark guilds strongly believed these principles and stayed with it.

Gajeel and Erik wouldnt give a shit either as their back and forth fighting was just making them more comfortable of being around the other. This never stopped until they were separated from other events happening within their guild do to the wars and with Phantom Lord being forced to disband once Fairy Tail defeated it barely and Oracion Seis unfortunately following. Regardless the two dragons stayed in contact secretly, but acted like they were estranged strangers so no one would be wiser knowing they were partners in crime. Until Gajeel had worked with Magic Council due to his guild splitting up and Erik being part of Crime Sorciere due to his guild disbanded and dissolved is when they reunited and secretly saw each other again. After that mission taking down the slave traders together they made pact to spend more time together whenever it was possible.

Jacket Day 2 Cojeel week

It was raining firecely as the wind was whipping across the sky and began to take place after both dragon slayers were hanging out at a pub just drinking while Cobra had fun time challenging people to toxic intensities of alcohol who thought they could out drink him. The suspecting victims failed. Then things became chaotic. Gajeel was rocking out to his electric guitar while drinking strong concoctions of liquor as Erik adopted ear plugs once the audience gotten more insane with mixtures of cheers and jeers and the onslaught of food or drinks being thrown at him. He wasnt a bad singer, alot better that some entertainment, but people had various taste in it. The poison dragon slayer only rolled his eye as he saw some of the fight and mentally blocked out all the noise pollution that were ripping through his ears. Even with ear plugs wasnt saving him from it as he just stormed over, collected his partner by grabbing him by the collar as Gajeel pulled at Erik's coat as if in protest.

The next day the Iron dragon lay sprawled out on his bed as the sun shine brightly in his face. Cursing to himself he looked at his green and black dragonic designed phone that had a panther sticker on the back of it in a drowsy manner. His head was fuzzy as he blinked several times to get back his senses, and then he wondered why he was so sore and noticed the jacket he was wearing was not his. "Fuck? What happened last night?"

He glanced at his phone noticing a few missed calls. Instead of answering he began to text his partner in crime.

Text [Snake King] Aw shit these are not my clothes. I shouldnt have gotten wasted last night. I'm blaming you...

The poison dragon slayer was soundfully asleep as he heard the Poison theme tune in. For a moment he glared at the black designed snake phone as he ignored it a for a few minutes until the titanium theme came on and he quickly hit ignore knowing Gajeel was going to call him. So instead tapped in a reply.

Text [Hard Rocker] That's your own fucking fault...wait a fuck? You didnt just steal my clothes again? 😠

Text[Snake King] My bad. It's just your jacket and not your tight ass pants. They are very restricting and would only call attention to me

Text [Hard Rocker] Idiot. Which jacket? I have several a white one that flares out and a warmer coat that has a fur collar, including a black one that also has a flare. Hey...I like the straps and those were when I worked for the Oracion Seis, you probably eat the metal off them.

Text [Snake Master] No I wouldnt...I have my own belts. Eh your black one, but it fits me...I think I'll hang on to it.

Things that Erik and Gajeel have in common and true facts. I decided to share a huge list that connects these two even though they hardly have any scenes together.

- Started off as villians in their own arc

-both used ruthless means to get what they wanted

-both had important roles in their prior guilds. Gajeel with Phantom Lord and Erik with Oracion Seis as huge threats and their guild masters overall depended on them to defeat the hero

- Depised and humiliated women in the Fairy Tail guild. Gajeel - Lucy, Erik - Erza

- both developed close bond to their animal companion. Gajeel - Pantherlily, Erik- Cubellios

-both were impulsive in their early introductions but slowly matured early on

-In prior guilds had others to boss around and mock

- First dragon slayers to reveal their scales and claws to look intimidating

-Both share an official spin off together as team mates in Fairy Tail Gaiden Rhodonite

- Dragon slayers regardless Gajeel is first generation and Erik is second generation

-Didnt believe in dragons existing until later

-Like all dragon slayers someday will go through dragonfication

- Hate Natsu and tried to kill him

-defeated by Natsu with lucky shot

- Like to hang out by themselves if possible

- Get extremely annoyed with their guildmates

-Still dont know much about their past lives especially Erik

-Supposedly met after the Tartarus Arc...which I don't buy. Manga never verifies they havent encountered sooner in the series

-Share the dragon slayer curse of motion sickness

DAY 1 Cojeel week

SNAKES 🐍

Erik has an passionate affection for snakes and will collect any that hes sees around rural area. If they are entrapped in an enclosure he free them without regard to anyone's safety. Not many know how the poison dragon slayer became a snake magnet, but supposedly his scent was snake like and reputation of the snake master and other alias names such as snake mage had stuck with him ever sinse he had Cubellios during child hood until he was 19. He secretly wears snake design attire clothes, when not wearing his coat such as symbols or, but not anything to do with scales.

Gajeel always respected reptiles and had gained a better understanding of the serpents since he met Erik. The only thing the maroon haired gets pissed is if Gajeel purposely hardens his scales so the snakes can bite him to test out their poison. The second generation irritation grows afraid that the snakes will break their fangs on his skin. At this moment the metal dragon slayer was trying his patience.

"I wish for you to stop fucking doing that. Someday my anaconda is going to strangle you until you suffocate."

"Your talking about your snake and not......" Gajeel let the words run out of his mouth like a smart ass.

"Yessss bastard, get your mind out of the gutter. Damn idiot, I should just poison your ass right now. " The poison dragon slayer hissed gently taking one of the vipers away from Gajeel's skin, noticing there was only imprints on it as it began to heal.

"Im just fucking with you. Its nice to know I'm the only one who can rile you. Try it then you won't have anyone to screw." Gajeel shot back, before a mischievous look crossed him as he attemped to back the other into the tree. "Besides you'll miss me too much."

"Your lucky, I give a shit about you or else I would have killed you a long time ago." For a moment his ears had flushed red until he gained his posture again. He easily snaked himself away from his clutches.

"Even then you didnt have the heart....so instead we have this secret relationship going."

"Just shut up." That was all Erik could managed to say even with all the venomous words he exploited he knew he was right. Slipped his arms around the raven haired slayer, kissed him thus had brushed him against the tree.
