Today is Moon Day, so in honor of the first moon landing, I decided to do a moon spread. The phase the moon is currently in is waning crescent, so I chose the above waning moon spread.
I then lit a pine scented candle to help increase my psychic intuition and began to shuffle the cards.
1. WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK? The Knight of Blades - Dashing, domineering, aggressive, but of a pure heart. His intentions are honorable. This indicates that there is a physical person in my life that fits this description that I am allowing to hold me back. In my case, it is my ex-boyfriend. While he is no longer a part of my life, my thoughts often return to him and keep me stuck in the past.
2. WHAT MUST YOU ACCEPT? IX. The Hermit - Wisdom, discretion, getting advice from a respected elder, isolation. I must accept that I am single now and adjust to my life as such.
3. WHERE DO YOUR OBSTACLES ORIGINATE? XV. The Devil (inverted) - Illness, depression, misspent energy. I am allowing myself to wallow in guilt and sadness rather than picking myself up and moving on. The card being inverted I need to view this as an opportunity for an exit and push these feelings out of my life.
4. WHAT NEEDS TO BE NURTURED? Queen of Discs - Someone who is earth-bound and honest, also trustworthy. This indicates my relationship to someone else, typically an older woman. This relates back to The Hermit, as this is probably the respected elder I am getting advice from. As it is in the discs suit, they might also be assisting me financially. In my spread, this is probably the relationship I have with my mother.
5. WHAT KNOWLEDGE CAN YOU OBTAIN FROM THIS? King of Masks (inverted) - Passionate, domineering, strength through compassion. While the King cards often indicate an older man, in this case it reflects me. The inversion of the card means I need to allow things like passion and strength through compassion into my life. The suit of masks is an emotional suit, so these are strengths that would be particularly helpful in a relationship.
6. WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN? XVI. The Tower (inverted) - Disruption, catastrophe, the results of hubris. Before, my pride and my ego got in the way of me having a healthy relationship. I need to let them go.
