“Pelopidas in disguise”
According to some historians, the general Pelopidas of Thebes once disguised himself in “full drag” along his men to deceive and intoxicate the spartans, and then attacked them. And with that trick they recovered the capital of Thebes that had been invaded. That piece of history inspired me to draw him like this.
By the way, that’s the same Pelopidas who will create along whit his “beloved friend” Epaminondas the famous Sacred Band of Thebes. . .
